An amazing bundle from Omnivore Salt that includes their delicious sauce and award winning salt. Just a bit of both will unlock some of the deepest flavors in your food! Made by famous forager and wild boar hunter Angelo Garro. Buy it here.
I tried both the Omnivore Sauce and Salt. Let’s start with the sauce. This is a condiment that defies traditional definitions. Made from organic ingredients, including tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, ancho chiles and other spices, this tangy, spicy, and slightly sweet sauce can dress up just about any meal you make. It is thinner than ketchup, but thicker than most other sauces/marinades. It’s suggested use is to brush it on grilled meats, fish and vegetables to give a flavor boost. It is also great for a flavor boost to pizza, pasta red sauces or roasted vegetables, meat and fish.
Omnivore Salt is a delightful blend of organic spices with natural sea salt, harvested from the salt beds off the coast of Northern California. It is so versatile and can be used with just about anything. So far, I’ve used it as a rub on meat and fish (both grilled and roasted), on vegetables (roasted asparagus with olive oil and Omnivore Salt), in soups and stews, guacamole, sprinkled on top of eggs, and in a salad dressing.
Hella Bitter’s Aromatic and Citrus bitters are delicious, versatile and crafted for both the professional bartender and the hobbyist. his attractive bitters experience was designed specifically for the adventurous home bartender or chef. A great way to expand the variety of any bar. Buy it here. (P.S. Hella Bitter is made in NYC!)
Prior to writing this post I never actual experimented with bitters. Sure I’ve seen it on menus and have probably had a drink with bitters in it but I wasn’t too familiar with it myself, which came as a complete shock to one of my friends who considers himself a “bitters expert” (he’s a bartender).
It’s been quite fun using both the Aromatic and Citrus Bitters and making fun cocktails at home. My favorite so far is the Mint Julep
It helps to have julep cups, but if you don’t you can do this in a highball – or any glass – as well.
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1 oz mint syrup

- crushed ice
- fresh mint sprigs for garnish
Hella Bitters will be a welcome addition to your mixology and cooking prowess! Each bottle also comes with a recipe on the back, so don’t fret if you don’t know what to do with them!
